Last year at Axway, we launched a project called B2B 2034 – our exploration of how the B2B landscape will evolve over the next decade and how to thrive in the next 10 years. If you haven’t yet read the whitepaper, I invite you to do so here.
Our key message is simple: B2B integration will evolve into a symbiotic ecosystem where advanced technologies seamlessly collaborate with human decision-making and automated systems. I often say B -to- B is many People -to- many People. Meaning that B2B technology can accelerate, automate, and optimize – but human judgment and keeping control remain critical. And as recent advances in AI show, while it is powerful, it can also hallucinate, mislead, or oversimplify. That makes human critical thinking more important than ever.
This year, we took a deeper look into how AI not only will change but is already changing the B2B landscape. Leading organizations in logistics, retail, and manufacturing are using it to optimize supply chains, improve customer satisfaction, increase transparency, and reduce costs.
But here’s the point: none of this works without robust B2B integration. As Dave Barnett from Co-op once said, “If B2B integration went down, we’d have no business. It’s as simple as that.” And to unlock new, AI-driven, value in the supply chain, you need even more powerful systems to enable seamless EDI + API flows, cloud scalability, enterprise-grade security, and SLAs with more zeroes than ever.
I’m thrilled to share that we just published a new whitepaper exploring how AI and other disruptive technologies are changing B2B today. I hope you find a quiet moment to explore it – and maybe spark new ideas to bring back to your teams, discuss with your peers in other departments, and help your company to grow further, while keeping modern B2B integration at the very heart of your organization.
By the way, we have more AI news and topics coming: thought-leadership papers exploring how AI impacts different industries, and what real AI use cases we’re covering in Axway B2B Integration. You’ll hear it more and more.
