August 12, 2024

Axway V.P. Product Bas van den Berg explains the difference between API Products vs Product APIs along with API growth strategies during this expert series webinar video.

When it comes to API products, the focus is really on what it will offer to my target audience, my consumers. So, this means considering how I will package it, what pricing is associated with it, and what plans I will offer. It's also about the content—not just in a technical sense, but how my consumers will use it. This might lead to packaging and combining multiple APIs from different sources and gateways in a way that makes sense for the end user.

API products are all about treating it not just as something you build, but as a product designed for a specific audience. Who will benefit the most from it? What do I need to do to get it into their hands, in a form and with terms that suit their needs in the market?
