Navigating Shifting Regulations in Cloud Services: SecNumCloud and Beyond

August 12, 2024

Managed file transfer (MFT) services are evolving with SecNumCloud compliance, ensuring data sovereignty and security for cloud migrations.

SecNumCloud is a French cybersecurity certification that ensures cloud providers comply with local data sovereignty laws and meet strict security standards. At the start of 2024, Axway MFT General Manager Meetesh Patel predicted MFT managed cloud services might be the new normal as enterprises continued their journey to the cloud with security, regulatory, and reliability considerations in mind. Here, he revisits the topic now that we’re past the half-year mark

I think with SecNumCloud, we are witnessing an evolution as our different customers are clarifying their requirements around using a sovereign cloud. Regulations are constantly shifting, and it's crucial to stay informed and monitor these changes closely. We collaborate with our partner ecosystem, which actively participates in regulatory discussions, to guide us. We have already started our first implementations with one of our partners in SecNumCloud, and the process is progressing well. We will continue to learn and adapt as we move forward.

Dive deeper into how Axway handles data governance with this white paper.

Our new Cloud edition enhances our partners' effectiveness in deploying within SecNumCloud, meeting one of their key requirements. I am excited to see that the investment we have made this year is beginning to pay off. It’s an interesting dynamic; the ecosystem shifts significantly with these regulations, making it challenging to establish a final solution.

The positive aspect is that we are well-positioned from both a product delivery and capability standpoint to handle any patterns or delivery models that may emerge.
