Skipton Building Society | Counting on Axway MFT Managed Cloud Services

Skipton Building Society is a UK financial company with 82 branches and 200,000 employees, offering savings, mortgages, and financial advice. Its Managed File Transfer (MFT) system handles about 5,000 files daily. Migrating from an on-premise system to Axway’s Managed Cloud Services ensured seamless operations. Axway’s 24/7 support and system management eliminate the need for internal oversight. With over a decade-long partnership, Skipton Building Society trusts Axway to support their growth. Skipton Building Society is a financial company that offers savings and mortgage products to customers, as well as financial advice. The company operates two branches across the UK and employs two and a half thousand colleagues. The Managed File Transfer (MFT) system for Skipton Building Society is very critical, particularly for handling payment files. Since a significant volume of payment files go through this system, any failure in processing them can fundamentally disrupt the business. Skipton handles approximately 5,000 files a day through their MFT system, which operates 24/7. We chose Axway's managed cloud service because we migrated from our on-premise system. We were satisfied with the product we had, which is why we transitioned to the fully managed cloud MFT. Our expectation for the migration was a seamless transfer from the on-premise to the cloud, so that users would notice little difference between the two systems. We are very pleased with the successful migration. The benefits we’ve experienced with the MFT include not having to manage the operating system or apply system patches. Additionally, the 24/7 support provided by Axway means we do not have to rely on our internal teams in case of issues. Overall, we are very satisfied. The partnership with Axway is very strong; we have been working with them for over ten years. This long-standing relationship is one of the reasons we chose to continue with Axway and opt for their cloud platform. Our next steps involve enhancing the product, adding more features, and increasing automation to align with Skipton’s cloud-first strategy. We plan to continue with our program with Axway and hope they will support us in our journey to become a cloud-first company.
