Surprisingly, the DOS attack wasn't from an external hacker. It originated from a server within their own accounting department. And it just happened that an employee was running an end of the month report, generating a large number of requests to the tax API and effectively crippling it. The price tag for that misconfiguration was well over $1,000,000 in lost sales."
