TRANSCRIPT: When I had my internship at Axway, I was going into my sophomore year. One thing that I loved was that I was able to take the skills I had learned in my data analytics classes, such as Excel, and use that certification in the real world to make an impact at Axway. It really taught me a lot of professional skills moving forward, which I think is invaluable, especially as a college student in a business school. Ultimately, it was an amazing, amazing internship experience. At Axway, I worked with a very skilled group of developers who welcomed my inputs but also challenged me to think creatively. I appreciated being in an environment where everyone shared a commitment to high standards, be it software architecture or code quality. Getting to apply these advanced software development concepts within a very well-established code base made the work both challenging and deeply rewarding. I did a summer internship with Axway in 2024. My crowning accomplishment was writing a script that will install virtual machines of different origins and check their performance. It was rewarding to see that my script was reducing time and making the work easier for my teammates. This taught me how to prioritize and effectively manage my time, which ultimately made me a more efficient and organized person. My internship was filled with fun events like movie nights, team luncheons, and even exciting activities like axe throwing. These events really made my internship experience very memorable. They also helped me build great connections along the way. During my internship, I had the unique opportunity to work not just with one, but two different teams under the cloud infrastructure domain. Working under the guidance of two different managers, I was able to gain insights on different leadership styles and team dynamics. My favorite part of being an intern was being able to immerse myself in a real-world corporate environment and learn from individuals in higher positions than me. My most crowning accomplishment in the field marketing department was being able to create advertisements for Axway’s three main product lines. I also contributed to the setup and promotion of these events that I created advertisements for, and it was really cool to see my work come to life. There was energy when I went into the office, which was extremely motivating when I was doing my work. I know that in my future professional endeavors, I’m going to try to look for something similar to the culture at Axway. Working at Axway has expanded my view of what it means to be a software developer, and I got a chance to showcase my skills on both a technical and an architectural level. This internship solidified my passion for software engineering and my commitment to continuous learning. I believe the internship helped me think more strategically about cloud automation and project implementation. I believe my experience at Axway has helped me carve a clearer path for myself going forward. My internship at Axway was a critically important move for me. I worked alongside an immensely talented team who allowed me to be inquisitive and experimental within my internship. In fact, I was even able to dabble in video editing, which is how this little number was born! So, don’t be afraid to surprise yourself.
