Learn about the new Expression Language Editor in SecureTransport 5.5 and how it enhances control and customization for file transfer processes.
Hello everyone! With the modernization of SecureTransport, we are introducing a better way to create expression language in the user interface.
The new expression language widget will help you define conditions when editing routes and route steps. We replaced the simple text box with a rich code editor. You'll notice that the field is no longer restricted to a single line; new lines are automatically added as you type, and the editor grows vertically and horizontally to accommodate the expression.
The editor supports auto-completion, so the moment you start typing or use the Ctrl+Spacebar keyboard combination, it will display a list of available operators, keywords grouped by functionality, functions, regular expression examples, and more.
For some completions, the suggestions are contextual and will only display values applicable to the evaluated variable. For example, it will show a filtered list of available protocols for the session. The code snippet is syntax-highlighted, and simple validations will alert you about incorrect syntax.
You can use other common keyboard shortcuts to facilitate typing, like Shift+Alt+↓ to duplicate one or more lines of code, Ctrl+F to search and replace, or Ctrl+Z to undo the last actions.
Axway strives to deliver products that comply with the highest level of accessibility guidelines; note that the Tab key is reserved for keyboard navigation to step in and out of the editor without being trapped. By default, the editor is configured to automatically indent when you create new lines, but for additional formatting, it's recommended to insert spaces.
Click on the attached button to display examples and to connect multiple expressions using a logical operator. This beta feature will be available as an enhancement in the upcoming release. We will continue improving it by adding this widget to more places and by providing more examples, validations, and contextual suggestions specific to a particular field.
