Like the overview screen capture (Figure 2), actual activity is overlaid on the average performance of previous days, providing values in an intra-day context. At 18:00 (Figure 3), activity appears rather normal compared to the average pattern of previous days with one outlier: the Poughkeepsie center graph has broken with the expected processing profile. The peak in outstanding work threatens perfect order fulfillment because it suggests that orders won't be complete before the end of the day. The remedy in this case might be to authorize the center to keep the day shift longer (overtime wages) and team up with the second shift to get the job done on time. Figure 3.
