SecureTransport Q3 2026 feature updates

SecureTransport 5.5 cuts manual effort in storage, routing, transfers, and reporting. Cloud-native storage, automated route triggers, faster SMB transfers, smarter uploads, and clearer usage visibility arrive with no disruption to your deployment. SMB transfers alone move up to 70-80% faster over high-latency networks. Routes can now trigger automatically once a batch of files finishes arriving, removing scripts many teams built by hand to detect it. File Tracking also breaks usage down by account and business unit, so you can see exactly where transfer activity comes from.

Cloud-native storage for home folders

User Account Home Folders can now be mounted directly on S3-compatible storage. This gives customers a direct path to cloud-native storage without re-architecting existing accounts. It also removes the need to provision and maintain local disk capacity for home folders. Organizations can instead rely on the same durable, scalable object storage they already use for other workloads.

Reducing manual steps in route management

A subscription can now trigger once a pull or scheduler operation finishes. This can be combined with an automatically generated list of all retrieved files. Together, these remove the need for manual checks or custom scripts. Downstream processing, such as building a single archive, can then start automatically. The same automated list and trigger routing capability applies more broadly. It works for any route that should wait until a full batch of files has arrived.

Faster SMB transfers over high-latency networks

SMB transfers now run in asynchronous mode, speeding transfer delivery by up to 70-80% on high-latency networks. This is a major performance improvement for customers running SMB transfers across long-distance or constrained connections.

A more intuitive web client upload experience

The SecureTransport Web Client now supports drag-and-drop uploads into target folders, including full folder uploads. If the folder structure does not yet exist on the target, it is created automatically during the upload. This reduces manual effort for end users moving files and folders into the system.

Clearer visibility into billable transfers

File Tracking now marks each transfer as billable or non-billable, feeding directly into Usage Reporting. Teams can see usage broken down by account or by business unit. This gives clearer visibility into how transfer volume is distributed across the organization.

Reminders about SecureTransport version currency

As a reminder, SecureTransport follows the Axway Product Life Cycle policy (PLC 3.1). Security updates and improvements are provided for versions running on platforms in mainstream support. Platforms in extended support receive security updates only. Customers are encouraged to regularly review supported platforms and plan upgrades accordingly to ensure continued access to fixes, enhancements, and the highest level of protection. Fixes for correcting blocking/service-down issues or critical security vulnerabilities are delivered only for update releases in Maintenance status (released within the past 12 months).

  • As of October 2026, Windows Server 2022 will no longer be supported for SecureTransport.

  • As of November 2026, PostgreSQL 14, including Azure Database for PostgreSQL Flexible Server 14.x, will no longer be supported for SecureTransport.

  • As of November 2026, Digital Signature Algorithm (DSA) keys and CBC-mode ciphers will no longer be supported for SecureTransport. Due to the known vulnerabilities associated with these security parameters, they may be subject to an earlier phase-out in accordance with globally recognized cybersecurity standards organizations. • As of January 2027, Microsoft SharePoint on-premise 2019/2016 will no longer be supported for SecureTransport.

  • As of February 2027, Amazon RDS for PostgreSQL 14 will no longer be supported for SecureTransport.

  • As of April 2027 (estimated), IBM Storage Scale 5.2, formerly IBM Spectrum Scale/GPFS, is expected to no longer be supported for SecureTransport. This estimate is based on IBM's typical product support lifecycle. IBM has not announced an official End-of-Support date for version 5.2, and the actual date may change.

  • As of June 2027, Rocky Linux 9.x will no longer be supported for SecureTransport.
