Beware of third-party cloud service APIs

So much discussion of APIs in the enterprise focuses on making them available to internal and external applications. This paper reviews the operational and security challenges inherent in subscribing to third-party cloud services and consuming their APIs. In many ways, consuming external APIs requires more rigorous management than APIs developed in-house. It also explores some proven ways to make the most of third-party cloud service APIs in business and technological terms.
