axway.com 3 Axway backed up its technical capabilities with a deep understanding of how customs and clearance processes work. Throughout the pilot project and beyond, Axway industry experts helped to guide each member state through the implementation process. Proving the concept The pilot project was an unqualified success, enabling ASEAN to prove that the ASW could support "exactly-once" message delivery via HTTP(S) web services based on SOAP or REST APIs. Crucially, the Axway solution met the requirements for message data integrity, authentication and authorization, as well as payload encryption and public key infrastructure (PKI) certification and non-repudiation. From the outset of the project, Axway delivered training and knowledge- transfer sessions for government officials using the ASW. These deep-dive sessions were open to participants from across all the ASEAN member states, and focused on ASW-specific use cases — with particular emphasis on mapping services and the Electronic Business Extensible Markup Language (ebXML) protocol. Rebecca Acuña, Economic Growth & Governance Team Lead for the USAID Regional Development Mission for Asia, comments: "Axway came to this project not just as an IT vendor, but as a company that understands how customs and clearance processes work. That was critical in making this project a success, as was Axway's support for the member states." Ten countries, one B2B platform Based on the success of the pilot project and Axway's strong performance in a public tender process, ASEAN selected Axway to deliver the full-scale implementation of the ASW on the B2Bi platform. To streamline the project, Axway partnered with PT Electronic Data Interchange Indonesia (EDII) — a company with extensive experience around paperless, cross-border information exchange. Together, EDII and Axway helped deploy the B2Bi into production across all ten member states. Muwasiq Noor, Deputy of Operation and Development at the Indonesia National Single Window Operating Agency, comments: "Axway gives us tremendous support, and they play a critical role in helping member states integrate the ASW. For Indonesia, that support has been priceless." Axway gives us tremendous support, and they play a critical role in helping member states integrate the ASW.
